I'm telling everyone I know "stay away".mopguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18237030198009158927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6284261.post-48870835448325640142009-10-29T13:47:32.267+00:002009-10-29T13:47:32.267+00:00cont. While Windows 7 is probably the best OS Microsoft has ever produced, the upgrade problems that some have had are giving a black eye to an otherwise great OS. I've been running the RC, and now the final release (non-upgrade media) now as my primary, everyday OS since August and I'm I wouldn't go back to XP or to Vista.GailLAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18004453181846128738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6284261.post-21105127238516626702009-10-29T13:43:58.071+00:002009-10-29T13:43:58.071+00:00Obviously Moppy, you are not the only one who has ...Obviously Moppy, you are not the only one who has had trouble upgrading. My only note is that you cannot upgrade from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7 and if that is what you were trying to do (and you don't say) it will not work. I don't have my upgrade media yet, but some say the instructions are not as clear as they need to be on this point since most people don't know the difference. Also, while an upgrade may temporarily seem to fix a problem, it actually will usually introduce problems along the way.GailLAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18004453181846128738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6284261.post-68956039791217978762009-10-29T10:51:24.026+00:002009-10-29T10:51:24.026+00:00Win 7 Pro wouldn't even let me upgrade from Vi...Win 7 Pro wouldn't even let me upgrade from Vista! So, I canceled the install. To top it off I had to re-activate Vista over the phone. I believe in upgrades. An upgrade from XP to Vista actually fixed a problem. So, they can keep win 7. I'll use my copy when I build my next one. I also doubt I'll ever buy windows again. I've had it. Too expensive and I can't upgrade? Forget it Bill. I'll stick with XP and the one copy of Vista I have. after that, I'll use Linux.<br />Mopguymopguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18237030198009158927noreply@blogger.com
