Today's App Corner

After a long hiatus of being out of town, or some other reason for not blogging the apps, here is today's app.  It is an addictive little free game called Can Knockdown.  For those who want more there are in app upgrades and a pay version. This one is available for iOS and for Android.  It is deceptively simple and easy, but in the end high scores require a precise touch.  Here are the links:

1) Well, to start off this week one of those new startups to watch. I have been interested in the idea of using the tides to produce energy for a while now. Here is an article about using this power source for our future. Might want to keep an eye on this one, what has just happened in Japan testifies just how much power is available using this method. http://www.green-energy-news.com

2) Here is a very nice hi-def picture of the dark side of the moon, it looks a lot like the front, but I do not see any obvious large cities, or alien space stations, darn oh well maybe Mars. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com

3) Announcements touting the finding of the lost city of Atlantis seem to crop up every few years, here is another and it sounds just as good as the last one, we will have to wait and see, not sure just what constitutes proof, but then I suspect that truth, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. http://www.reuters.com

4) With so many fascinating events happening in the world today I think it is informing to try and track some of the origins. There has been a lot of talk about how social media, and the internet caused the recent unrest in the middle-east. While not the cause it sure seems like it was at the very least a tool enabling the progression of events. This is a link to part one of Al Jazeera’s tracking of events on YouTube, part two is supposed to be released very soon, there is a link to over 19,000 videos posted on YouTube by Al Jazeera. http://www.youtube.com

5) What I hope is my last posting on Farm Ville and Mafia Wars, I find this to be somewhat confusing, must be a generational thing. http://www.stuff.co.nz
