The amorality of Web 2.0

The link will take you to "Rough Type", Nicholas Carr's blog.

While I'm not one to point out philosophy or philosophical observation I think this particular piece should be required reading for anyone who mouths the phrase "web 2.0". I must warn you it is somewhat long, but it's packed with things to think about; important things.

  1. Seems to me like its arguing for buying into Web 2.0, in this case, hook, line and sinker, rather than being naturally skeptical. The net is not only amoral, but should be neutral, aka a dumb pipe. Not strangle bandwidth unless the content provider, pays for something the subscriber is already paying for.
