Sad news for XM subscribers....

According to Reuters.com: XM raises rates about 30% in April..
XM, whose shares jumped 13 percent, said the monthly subscription for its basic plan will rise to $12.95 from $9.99, effective April 2. For XM, the leader in the nascent pay-radio market that offers more than 100 channels of music and talk programing, it is the first price increase since its national launch in 2001.

  1. Not the best news XM subscribers have had today. Some are happy because it will now include the online service and Opie and Anthony. Just my personal comment, but you'd have to pay me to listn to Opie and Anthony, lol. On the good news side if I prepay for a year, I can keep the $9.99 per month price and for multiple subscription holders like me, the family plan will aslo stay at $6.95 per month. Probably a good move for the financial security of the company and the future, but still bad news for some subscribers like me for whom the newly included content is a non-starter.

  2. I went with SIRIUS because of Howard Stern. Well, turns out Streaming music is free. One of the DJ's is a guy I went to school with 30 years ago. We have emailed a few times since. Sorry MissM :-) . Checked out XM it's great but, at the time streaming was extra and I agree Gail O&A ain't for me either. Poor imitation of Howard IMO. Just my $.02.
